KOHLU: Unidentified gunmen opened fire in the Lasay Zai area of Kohlu late Tuesday night, killing three people, police said.
The victims, identified as Bhagia Usman Marri and his two sons, died on the spot.
Levi Force personnel rushed to the scene after receiving the report and moved the bodies to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) for legal formalities.
Security forces launched a search operation to track down the attackers. Hospital officials later handed the bodies over to the family for burial.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least populated province, has long struggled with a complex mix of crime, militancy, and tribal conflicts.
The province, which shares borders with Afghanistan and Iran, has also witnessed militant activity and cross-border smuggling, adding to its fragile security situation. Incidents of violence in districts such as Kohlu, Dera Bugti, and Quetta are often linked to tribal disputes, separatist groups, or criminal networks.

Despite security operations, crimes in Balochistan continue to disrupt daily life, making law enforcement and stability a major concern for the region.
