NASEERABAD: Deputy Commissioner Naseerabad, Munir Ahmed Khan Kakar, formally launched the district-wide anti-polio campaign by administering polio drops to children at a ceremony.
Furthermore, the event was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Manan Lakti, World Health Organization (WHO) Representative Dr. Mumtaz Tania, and other officials including Dr. Ghulam Yaseen Dajli, Communication Officer Saddam Hussain, Deputy Commissioner’s PS Manzoor Sherazi, and Sanaullah Chikhra.
The guests also participated in giving polio and vitamin drops to children as part of the campaign’s symbolic launch.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner Kakar said that more than 157,000 children under the age of five will be vaccinated during the campaign across the district.
In this sense, to facilitate the drive, 42 fixed centers and 33 transit points have been established in 39 union councils of Naseerabad, where trained teams will visit door-to-door to ensure that every child receives the vaccine.
Moreover, he focused on the fact that the eradication of polio requires joint efforts from all government departments and community members.
In addition, Kakar added that the district administration will closely monitor the campaign to ensure its effectiveness and transparency.
He urged the UC Medical Officers, area coordinators, and supervisory staff to fulfill their responsibilities diligently and maintain accurate reporting throughout the campaign.
The DC described the polio eradication campaign as a national duty, stressing that all available resources will be utilized to achieve its goals.
He confirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening the monitoring process so that no child is left unvaccinated.
Meanwhile, Abdul Manan Lakti and WHO representative Dr. Mumtaz Tania also appreciated the efforts of the district administration and health teams, confirming WHO’s continued support for Pakistan’s fight against polio.
