GULISTAN : In a major fifth-day operation, a joint team of the Excise, Taxation & Anti-Narcotics Department and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) destroyed 135 acres of illegal narcotic crops in Tehsil Gulistan.
The operation targeted drug cultivation in the Karez, Khargai, and Aghbergai areas. According to an official spokesperson, 105 acres of crops were eradicated on the spot, while another 30 acres had dried out due to a water shortage.
This latest action brings the total area of destroyed illicit crops in District Killa Abdullah to a significant 1,744 acres. As part of the crackdown, one new criminal case (FIR) was registered, raising the total number of cases in the district to 19.
Officials stated that these sustained joint operations are a core part of the government’s comprehensive strategy to eliminate drug cultivation from Balochistan. They affirmed that the ongoing campaign is successfully.

In a separate crackdown on drug trafficking, Anti-Narcotics Department seized 60 kilograms of high-quality hashish during an operation in Rukni, located in Barkhan District.
The successful operation was launched when officials stopped a Hino mini truck that appeared to be transporting apples. Upon a thorough inspection of the vehicle, the excise team discovered a hidden compartment inside the truck’s diesel tank. The compartment contained the large cache of 60 kilograms of hashish.
Following the seizure, the vehicle was confiscated, and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered with authorities. The FIR aims to aid the investigation in tracing and arresting other individuals involved in the smuggling network.
A spokesperson for the department confirmed the seizure and emphasized that anti-narcotics operations are being conducted across the province without any discrimination. The spokesperson further praised the officers and staff, who are working tirelessly day and night to achieve the goal of a drug-free Balochistan.
