ISLAMABAD: In a recent podcast, defense analyst Abdullah Khan strongly criticized political leaders, specifically naming Mahmood Khan Achakzai, for blaming state institutions following a recent attack for which the enemy had already claimed responsibility.
Khan called such statements “regrettable and irresponsible,” arguing that they do not help improve the situation. He emphasized that everyone, including politicians like Achakzai and Sardar Akhtar Mengal, must understand that the nation faces a common enemy and that security institutions are on the front lines against it.
He warned that using critical language against these institutions only serves to strengthen the enemy’s intentions. Khan challenged critics to first practice transparency and democracy within their own political parties, stating that mere criticism is not a solution.
He concluded with a stark warning, pointing to the historical examples of Iraq, Syria, and Libya as nations that weakened their armed forces, suggesting that Pakistan must avoid a similar fate.
