Ali Amin Gandapur resigns as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM. Who is Sohail Afridi

PESHAWAR: Ali Amin Gandapur has announced his resignation from the position of Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He stated that Suhail Afridi has his full support and that the party leadership will soon issue clear directions regarding the matter.

Earlier, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja confirmed Gandapur’s removal, saying that the party’s founding chairman had asked him to step down.

Raja explained that Suhail Afridi was being given the responsibility to engage with the federal government.

He further added that the founding chairman believed there was no need for the expulsion of Afghan refugees.

Raja expressed regret over today’s tragic incidents of terrorism and the resulting loss of lives, stressing the need for dialogue with Afghanistan.

He criticized former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for not visiting Afghanistan even once during his tenure, noting that it created an impression that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had never been able to separate itself from federal policy. Raja confirmed that Suhail Afridi had been nominated as the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
