Air India suffers massive loss amid the border-closure

DELHI: The Indian Airline, Air India has disclosed the massive loss on account of the suspension of the flight operation after the PAK-IND border closure.

According to the report, the suspension of the PAK-IND border has led the Air India to a massive financial loss.

A renowned news agency WRITERS has disclosed that the Indian air line has suffered a loss of 450 million US dollars on account of the border closure as the flight roots had to be diverted by both the countries. India, having larger number of planes to go past the Pakistani areal roots suffered heavier loss on account of the border closure.

According to the news agency, The Indian airline is forced to use the longer root for its flights to the United State, Canada and Europe which has enhanced that expenditure to a larger extent.

In order to reduce the loss, Air India has plead China to open to areal roots of Xinxiang and has carried out the lobbing for it as well.

However, the Indian foreign office has revealed a complete ignorance on the above said issue.

Indian commercial flights, particularly those from northern Indian cities like Delhi, Amritsar, and Chandigarh to destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and North America, have traditionally relied on Pakistan’s airspace for shorter, more efficient routes.

This corridor allows overflights that save significant time and fuel—estimated at 800 international Indian flights per week using it pre-2025 disruptions.

Geopolitically, access has been intermittent, with full closures during the 2019 India-Pakistan standoff lasting five months and costing Indian airlines around ₹700 crore ($82 million) in rerouting expenses.

It is worth mentioning that the strain on the border between the two countries has led the both sides to pull hands in many areas including using each other’s areal roots.

Both the countries have suspended the bilateral trade and have undone the bilateral sporting events as well.
