Chagai: Afghan Refugees Repatriated from Gurdi Jungle and Lajay Camps along with the removal of illegal structures
In Chagai, the district administration, in coordination with Dalbandin Rifles, repatriated all Afghan refugees from the Gurdi Jungle Camp to Afghanistan after completing proper registration procedures.
According to sources, the administration has also begun demolishing vacant houses and shops within the camp.
Footage released from the site shows the ongoing destruction of empty structures at Gurdi Jungle Camp.
Sources confirmed that Afghan refugees from the camp were sent back to Afghanistan following official documentation and formal procedures.
The Gurdi Jungle Camp, the largest Afghan refugee settlement in Balochistan, had been home to around 70,000 Afghan refugees.
Additionally, the administration stated that operations in the Lajay Afghan Refugee Camp began on November 26, and all activities are being conducted in accordance with state policy.
Once the Lajay camp is vacated, the remaining illegal structures there will also be removed.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan has had a clear stance about the Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan.
Pakistan aims a peaceful and early repatriation of all such Afghan nationals who have been residing in Pakistan for the past five decades.
Such people are advised to go back to their country now and play their role for the development and the stability of Afghanistan.
Pakistan has to keep the matters of law-and-order and national security in KP and Balochistan in view.
Once the Afghan national return to their country, Pakistan will look forward to carry out the development infrastructure, employment, health and education in the remote areas of KP and Balochistan.
Ironically, despite Pakistan’ hospitality, the Afghan nationals have been involved in the acts of militancy, smuggling, drugs-supply, land-grabbing and other serious crimes causing threats to the law-and-order and the national security.
Furthermore, instead of acknowledging Pakistan’s sacrifice of decades, the Afghan government has been backing and supporting the Indian-sponsored militancy in the KP and Balochistan.
The militants-attacks have been launched on the security forces, innocent civilians and the development infrastructure not only in KP and Balochistan but also in Karachi and Punjab areas.
The militant groups like TTP, BLA, Majeed Brigade, Daish and many others have been launching attacks on the Pakistani territory for the past four decades.
Thousands of innocent people have been brutally killed in those militant-attacks.
Such militants moved backed and supported by Afghanistan are not a fair return of Pakistan’s sacrifices and goodwill.
