QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has emphasised the importance of embracing modern scientific innovations to meet current needs and align with the evolving demands of the modern world. He shared these views while speaking with various delegations at the Governor’s House in Quetta.
The Governor pointed out that Pakistan, particularly Balochistan, is grappling with a serious energy crisis. He stressed that relying solely on conventional methods is no longer viable, and that alternative energy sources like solar power are now essential. He described this shift as a necessary response to persistent challenges such as electricity load shedding.
Governor Mandokhail said that solar systems and information technology are already being integrated into all public sector universities across Balochistan. These initiatives, he said, are already producing positive outcomes by improving energy efficiency, reducing operational costs, and enhancing institutional performance.
Looking ahead, the Governor stressed the need to prioritize emerging technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI). He argued that investing in such technologies would not only address immediate challenges but also ensure long-term sustainability and energy security.
