QUETTA: Serious allegations have been made against Balochistan’s political establishment by activist Adnan Saleem Baloch during an appearance on the Burak Baloch podcast.
Baloch accused regional chieftains, specifically naming prominent leader Akhtar Mengal, of subjugating the people and treating them like “slaves.” He called upon the state to intervene and bring these powerful figures to justice.
He criticized Mengal’s political tactics, alleging he busses people into rallies for show but is absent when they need help, calling it an attempt to “revive dead politics.” Baloch further claimed that Mengal has been rejected by both tribal elders and the youth of Balochistan.
The most severe allegations were financial. Baloch declared that Akhtar Mengal is not a true nationalist but is self-interested, claiming he has accepted “crores of rupees in salaries” from the government. He also made a separate claim about former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s financial dealings.
These claims, presented as revelations, have not been independently verified. There has been no immediate public response from Akhtar Mengal or his party.
