Five people died in road accident on Makran Coastal highway

LASBELA: A horrible road accident on the Makran-Coastal highway has caused death to five people.

A massive collision between a passenger van and gas boozer took place on the Makran Coastal Highway.

The fire erupted in the passenger van after the collision. Five passengers got burnt quite horribly. The injured people were shifted to the hospital immediately.

However, five people lost their lives in the sad incident. The dead bodies and the injured persons were shifted to hospitals through the Edhi Ambulances.

It is worth mentioning that the many such horrific accidents have been taking place on the Makran Coastal Highway despite the fact that the highway is thought to be much safer than the Quetta-Karachi Highway which is called ‘a killer highway’.

It is worh mentioning that many such cases of road accidents occur across Balochistan.

The reports suggest that the ratio of deaths on account of road accident is horrible as compared to the other parts of the countries.

The fatal road accidents are caused due to many factors. The road infrastructure across Balochistan is mainly poor as not only the national highways but also the other roads are in a state of disarray.

Often, the speedy vehicles overturn when they pass over the ditches and the rough patches on the roads.

The other significant reason for the road accident is that nearly 90 percent of the roads across Balochistan are one-way.

Whenever the vehicles overtake or come across each other on some risky turns, they collide and cause deadly accidents.

Another reason are the goods transport that travels from border areas to all parts of the countries carrying food-stuff, building material and other goods.

They often collide with the other vehicles due to the narrow passages available on the roads.

The traders, transporters and the passengers demand from the provincial government and the concerned departments to take necessary measures and provide a better road infrastructure to overcome such deadly accidents in Balochistan.
