White House: US working to reduce tensions among Pakistan and India

WASHINGTON: White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said that the US is actively working to reduce tensions between Pakistan and India to avoid further escalations among the two nuclear power countries of South Asia.

During a news press briefing, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is in contact with the leaders of Pakistan and India, adding that Rubio has talked to both countries about preventing the conflict from escalating.

Caroline Levitt said that President Trump has also discussed the Pakistan-India issue and adding that President Trump has good relations with the leaders of both countries.

President Trump wants tensions not to escalate and this conflict to end soon and restore the peace in the region, she said.

It is to be notified that India has started the baseless accusations game against Pakistan following the Pahalgam incident in which 26 tourists were killed and 20 others were injured. Modi government started aggression against Pakistan and strikes different areas of six cities in a result 31 civilians were martyred and 57 others were injured.

In retaliation, Pakistan shoots down five fighter jets including three Rafeal jets and destroyed headquarters of Indian Army along Line of Control (LoC).
