Pakistan sets a better example on minority rights than India: Senator Dhanesh Kumar

LASBELA – Senator Dhanesh Kumar has strongly rejected the Indian government’s accusations regarding the treatment of minorities in Pakistan, describing them as baseless propaganda.

He emphasized that religious minorities in Pakistan, including the Hindu community, enjoy constitutional freedoms and social acceptance that far exceed the conditions faced by minorities in India.

Speaking during the annual Hinglaj Mata Temple fair in Lasbela, Senator Kumar noted the peaceful participation of thousands of Hindu devotees who had traveled from across Pakistan to perform religious rituals at the sacred site.

“If not Prime Minister Modi, then at least the Indian ambassador should visit and witness how Pakistan’s Hindu community is freely celebrating their religious traditions,” he remarked.

The Hinglaj Mata Temple, located in a mountain cave along the Hingol River in Hingol National Park, approximately 250 kilometers from Karachi, is one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites in the region.

Authorities had made elaborate security and logistical arrangements to accommodate the pilgrims and ensure the festival’s smooth conduct.

Senator Kumar also reiterated his full support for the armed forces of Pakistan during a recent address in the Senate.

He underscored that Pakistan’s minority communities remain steadfast in their commitment to the country’s sovereignty and defense. “Pakistan is our homeland, and we are ready to make any sacrifice to protect it. Any hostile move by India will be met with a united response from all Pakistanis, regardless of religion,” he stated.

In a parallel demonstration of unity, members of the Hindu community in Quetta staged a peaceful protest in support of Pakistan’s military.

The participants carried placards expressing loyalty to the state and condemned Indian aggression.

The protesters reaffirmed that religious minorities in Pakistan are proud, patriotic citizens who stand firmly behind the armed forces in defending the nation against any external threat.
