QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti said terrorists are spilling the blood of Pakistanis, not Punjabis or Baloch based on identity.
While addressing the 15th National Workshop Balochistan, he said we must leave confusion behind and fight terrorism with clarity and ground realities.
He said every Pakistani must understand the difference between perception and reality about Balochistan.
He added that unrest in Balochistan is not due to uneven development. Uneven development exists across Pakistan and many countries.
He said bad governance and lack of development can be blamed on the government, not the state. Article 5 of the Constitution demands unconditional loyalty to the state.
He stressed the need to understand history in the current context of Balochistan. He said we must research facts instead of twisting them.
He pointed out that the limited operation in Kalat was wrongly portrayed as an operation in all of Balochistan. Just like an operation in Rahim Yar Khan isn’t called an operation across Punjab, or Lyari’s operation wasn’t called all of Karachi’s.
He said the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program has started in Balochistan. Poor students can now access top institutions from matric to PhD.
He stated that children of civilian martyrs, minorities, and transgender individuals have been given special scholarships.
He also said the government is training 30,000 youth with skills and sending them abroad for jobs.
