In a significant breakthrough, authorities in southeastern Paktia, Afghanistan province have seized over 500 kilograms of raw hashish and dismantled a drug processing factory in a major operation by the Counter-Narcotics Department. The raid, conducted on Wednesday in Ahmadaba district’s Zar Gul area, has exposed a large-scale narcotics operation.
According to a statement from the provincial police, the authorities uncovered a drug factory where 503 kilograms of raw hashish, 619 kilograms of cannabis seeds, a pick-up vehicle, and equipment used for processing the drug were confiscated. The haul represents a substantial blow to narcotics trafficking in the region.
The operation led to the arrest of three suspects, who are currently under investigation. Following initial questioning, they will be handed over to judicial authorities for further legal action.
This operation is part of a broader campaign to curb the growing drug trade in Afghanistan, a persistent challenge for law enforcement agencies striving to combat narcotics production and trafficking across the country.
