ISLAMABAD: Renowned journalist and anchorperson Gharida Farooqi has revealed key insights following a two-day visit to Balochistan, which included a five-hour comprehensive meeting with Corps Commander Quetta, Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, alongside other fellow journalists.
The state maintains a clear and uncompromising policy regarding Balochistan: development and prosperity are to be pursued through peace, affection, and engagement with the public, whereas terrorists and their facilitators will face zero tolerance and intensified crackdowns.
Individuals who hold grievances but accept the Constitution of Pakistan and seek their rights within constitutional bounds are being engaged through ongoing dialogue channels.
In a detailed report shared via her X account, Farooqi emphasized that the armed forces’ sacrifices in Balochistan are not in vain, as the sacrifices of martyrs strengthen resolve and sharpen strategic direction.
Significant development work has been undertaken across Balochistan over the past two years, though regrettably, it often goes unnoticed by media outlets that frequently project mostly negative narratives driven by specific agendas.

It was further revealed that Corps Commander Quetta personally engaged with Mahrang Baloch, offering her negotiations and solutions within constitutional boundaries, but these sincere efforts were repeatedly rejected for agenda-driven motives.
The reality of terrorist incidents in Balochistan is deeply complex; during several major attacks, foreign satellites remained parked and static in Pakistan’s space borders to facilitate uninterrupted communication between terrorists.
Furthermore, sophisticated chips utilized in attacks against the Pakistan Armed Forces previously lacked countermeasures, but Pakistan has now developed indigenous technology to neutralize them. Questions remain regarding who is supplying these operational facilities to terrorists within Balochistan.
Regarding missing persons, Farooqi noted that while the issue is heavily politicized with claims numbering in the thousands, the actual verified figure stands at only 282, all of whom are currently being handled by the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances.
A primary anti-Pakistan narrative headquarters based in a major foreign capital is even directed by an individual whose name appears on Balochistan’s missing persons list.
Additionally, a virtual meeting was held with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, who was performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
Discussions with the Chief Minister and his cabinet covered extensive details of ongoing regional development, specifically focusing on an ambitious ten-year development plan.
This plan aims to make Balochistan financially self-sufficient by harnessing its rich mineral resources over the next decade, reducing dependency on federal funds and ensuring capital is genuinely utilized for public welfare rather than tribal chieftains.
Chief Minister Bugti acknowledged the media’s influential role while expressing concern that negative elements receive disproportionate media coverage while positive milestones are underreported.
Farooqi raised specific inquiries regarding the potential creation of new provinces, constitutional procedures for division, and enhancing transparency, openness, and media engagement in the province.
Furthermore, reports indicate that Mahrang Baloch has received approximately 5 billion rupees in uncounted foreign funding, enabling her to acquire three houses in affluent upscale neighborhoods.
Farooqi stated that if these claims are inaccurate, individuals associated with Mahrang Baloch or the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) must come forward with complete transparency and public accountability.
