ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will increase its flights to London to seven a week from Oct. 27, up from four currently, as the national carrier moves to expand its international network and tap strong demand among overseas Pakistanis.
Under the revised schedule, PIA will operate five weekly flights from Islamabad to London and two from Lahore, ensuring a daily service to the British capital.
The increase represents a 75% rise in PIA’s weekly London frequency and strengthens direct air connectivity between Pakistan and Britain, which is home to a large Pakistani diaspora.
“The capacity expansion reflects strong passenger demand and growing confidence in the airline’s international services, ensuring seamless, direct connectivity between Pakistan and the UK,” a PIA spokesperson said in a statement.
The airline currently operates direct services to London from Islamabad and Lahore, with its flights at Heathrow Airport operating from Terminal 4 since March.
The expansion comes as PIA seeks to rebuild its international network following years of restrictions on its operations in Europe and Britain.
PIA resumed direct flights to the United Kingdom in 2025 after British authorities lifted restrictions imposed on the airline following a 2020 licensing scandal involving Pakistani pilots.
Since then, the carrier has gradually expanded its UK operations. In March 2026, it also launched direct services between Lahore and London, further broadening its network to one of Pakistan’s most important international markets.
The latest increase is expected to provide additional capacity on a route serving a substantial Pakistani community in Britain, while supporting PIA’s efforts to strengthen its international operations and regain market share on key overseas routes.
