QUETTA: The Balochistan government has officially dismissed as “fake and baseless” a notification circulating on social media regarding security threats, while warning of strict legal action against those spreading disinformation and panic among the public.
Deputy Home Minister Babar Yousafzai, in a statement issued on Wednesday, categorically rejected the purported alert, urging citizens not to entertain unverified and fabricated information. He reiterated that the protection of lives and property of the public remains the provincial government’s top priority.
“All law enforcement and security agencies are on full alert,” Yousafzai stated, assuring that law and order would be ensured at all costs.
The minister issued a stern warning to individuals involved in spreading fake notifications and rumors, emphasizing that the provincial government has repeatedly made it clear that fake information and misleading propaganda are intolerable. He declared that elements engaged in fake publicity, rumor-mongering, and creating fear among the masses “will not be able to escape the clutches of the law.”
Yousafzai appealed to responsible citizens to trust only information released from official and authentic sources. He further confirmed that all relevant agencies are performing their responsibilities in complete coordination to maintain law and order and safeguard the public.
