QUETTA: The Balochistan Goods Truck Association, along with multiple transport bodies, has announced its full support for the shutter-down strike (hartal) called by Anjuman Tajran Balochistan (Registered) in Quetta on August 7 and 8.
In a joint statement, Central President Haji Noor Muhammad Shahwani, along with Sohail Khan Kakar, Haji Rozi Khan Mandokhel, Haji Zahir Shah Yousafzai, Malik Noor Khan Kurd, Jafar Khan Kakar, Haji Amin Samalani, Haji Dad Kurd, Omar Shah Afridi, Mazda Truck Association Chairman Babu Jan Raisani, Qadim Khan Barich, Abdul Haq Mengal, and Younis Pathan, affirmed that the transport community stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the business community in their struggle for legitimate demands and rights.
The association officials appealed to all transporters and people associated with relevant sectors to actively participate in the two-day shutter-down strike and play a positive role in making it a resounding success. They emphasized that the problems faced by traders and transporters are of a common nature, which urgently require mutual unity and consensus to resolve.
The transport leaders expressed hope that the relevant authorities will address the legitimate demands of the traders seriously and on a priority basis, so that normal business and commercial activities can resume without further disruption.
