KARACHI: Senior Pakistani actor and writer Syed Mohammad Ahmed recently revealed in a podcast that a junior actor, roughly four decades younger than him, repeatedly mocked and humiliated him during a drama shoot.
The junior actor made sarcastic remarks about his leather bag, ridiculed his acting style and hairstyle in front of others, and even used a portable fan like a hair dryer to mock him loudly.
Although deeply hurt and bothered by the incident, Mohammad Ahmed maintained his composure, completed the shoot to avoid spoiling the environment, and chose not to name the individual.
Following his revelation, the showbiz industry rallied behind him with strong support and outrage.
Actor and director Shaan/Shamoon Abbasi urged the anonymous junior actor to apologize before his identity is exposed, while actor Faisal Qureshi angrily demanded to know the culprit’s name to handle the matter personally.
Actor Syed Jibran also emphasized that the junior actor should step forward to apologize given the immense distress caused to a gentle veteran.
Overwhelmed by the widespread solidarity, Mohammad Ahmed later took to Instagram to thank his colleagues and fans, stating that he chooses to cherish their love and respect rather than the unpleasant incident.
