DOHA: Qatar has firmly rejected Israeli media reports claiming it agreed to participate in any military action against Iran, describing the allegations as false and misleading.
In a statement, Qatar’s International Media Office said reports published by several Israeli media outlets alleging that Doha had agreed to join military operations against Iran were entirely baseless.
The office said the false reports were being circulated by parties seeking to drag Qatar into the ongoing regional conflict, undermine its role as a mediator, and fuel further instability in the Middle East.
Qatar reaffirmed that its position has remained consistent since the start of the crisis. It said the country has neither taken part in military action against any neighboring state nor has any intention of doing so in the future.
The International Media Office said Qatar would not allow its active diplomatic efforts to be undermined by misinformation and would continue working to promote peace and stability across the region.
The statement added that Doha remains in close contact with regional and international partners to help secure a peaceful resolution to the current tensions. It said Qatar supports efforts to reach a comprehensive and lasting agreement that addresses the concerns of all parties involved.
Political analysts say Qatar has played a key mediating role in several regional conflicts over the past decade. They note that Doha continues to emphasize its policy of neutrality and diplomacy as tensions persist across the Middle East.
