PM Shehbaz Promises Public Relief in Budget

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government has introduced measures in the federal budget aimed at providing relief to the public and strengthening the economy.

The remarks came during a meeting in Islamabad with a delegation of leading industrialists and business leaders. Discussions focused on economic growth and consultations on the federal budget.

The delegation included prominent businessmen such as Mian Muhammad Mansha, Arif Habib, Atif Bajwa, Muhammad Ali Tabba, and Mussadik Zulqarnain.

Welcoming the delegation, the prime minister described Pakistan’s leading industrialists and business figures as ambassadors of the country and a source of its global recognition. He thanked the business community for supporting the government during difficult economic conditions.

Sharif said a strong partnership between the government and the private sector was essential for sustainable economic growth. He stressed that consultation with the business community remained a key part of economic policymaking.

The prime minister said the budget includes measures to provide relief to citizens and to bring the informal economy into the tax net. He added that business-friendly policies had helped stabilize the economy and restore the confidence of foreign investors.

He said Pakistan was pursuing an export-led growth strategy, which remains the central pillar of the government’s economic policy. Progress in industry, agriculture, and information technology would further strengthen the economy and create new employment opportunities, he added.

Members of the delegation welcomed the government’s efforts on tax reforms and measures aimed at improving the ease of doing business. They were also briefed on initiatives designed to promote investment, industry, and trade.
