MIR Ali: Security forces in North Waziristan foiled a suicide attack on Tuesday after an assailant targeted his intended location and detonated explosives prematurely, killing himself and injuring four civilians, security officials said.
According to security sources, the suicide bomber of Fitna al Khawarij was moving towards a high-value target when personnel observed suspicious activity and attempted to intercept him on Bannu-Mirali Road. In a state of panic, the attacker reportedly blew himself up before reaching his destination.
Four people sustained minor injuries in the blast and were provided immediate medical assistance, officials added.
Senior security officials said intelligence agencies had received prior information about a possible suicide attack in North Waziristan, prompting heightened security across the district. Security forces had been placed on high alert, and monitoring was intensified in sensitive areas.
Meanwhile, the TTP suicide bomber involved in the April 2 attack on a police station in Domail, Bannu, has been identified as Ehsanullah alias Khaksar, an Afghan national from Zhari District, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. The suicide attack targeted the Domail police station and resulted in the martyrdom of five civilians, including women and children, while 13 others sustained injuries.

Separately, a gas pipeline in the Miryan area of Bannu was reportedly damaged in a blast attributed to TTP militants. Gas supply to nearby homes has been disrupted, and authorities have sealed off the area amid reports of an ongoing leak. No casualties have been reported.
