Honor killing claims lives of couple seven years after love marriage

MURAD JAMALI :  Two separate incidents of firing in Nasirabad district have claimed two lives, including that of a young woman, police said on Monday.

In the first incident, a husband allegedly shot his wife dead in the name of honour within the limits of Police Station Mangoli.

According to police officials, the suspect, identified as Mehboob Ali Katohar Magsi, opened fire on his 23-year-old wife, Masmata Mukhtiara Bibi, in Goth Syed Akhtar Shah. The accused reportedly killed her on the charge of blackmailing and fled the scene.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot, took the body into custody, and shifted it to the Teaching Hospital Dera Murad Jamali. After legal formalities, the body was handed over to the heirs. Mangoli police have registered a murder case against the husband, Mehboob Magsi, and efforts are underway to arrest him.

In a separate incident, a man was killed in a gunfight over a relationship dispute in Goth Jan Muhammad Jamali, located in the Och Power area near Sadar Police Station Dera Murad Jamali.

The deceased has been identified as Ahmed, son of Ghulam Muhammad Jagirani. He died on the spot after being shot during the clash. The accused managed to flee following the incident; however, police took swift action and arrested one of the suspects involved.

Police reached the scene, recovered the body, and transported it to the hospital, where it was handed over to the heirs after necessary procedures. Sadar Police are conducting further investigations into the mat
