ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms in various parts of the country, while dry and warm conditions are expected to prevail in most plains, according to the latest weather advisory issued.
In this regard, with rising temperatures particularly affecting the plain regions. However, parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to receive rainfall during the day.
The advisory indicates that areas including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum may experience rain. Similarly, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Narowal are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall, which may bring temporary relief from the prevailing heat.
In addition, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several districts are also expected to receive precipitation. These include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, and Kohistan, along with Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, and Bajaur.
Meanwhile, most districts in Punjab and Sindh are likely to experience dry weather conditions. The Southern parts of these provinces are expected to remain hot, with temperatures possibly rising further in the coming days. Similarly, the majority of Balochistan will continue to experience dry weather, although isolated rainfall is anticipated in Zhob and Khuzdar.
The Meteorological Department continues to monitor the situation and will issue updates as necessary to ensure public safety and awareness.
Overall, while scattered rain is expected to provide some relief in northern regions, much of the country will continue to face dry and warm conditions in the days ahead.
