TEHRAN: A senior Iranian commander and advisor to the commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guards, General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, has warned that Iran possesses complete military superiority and is capable of destroying global oil markets if tensions escalate further.
In an interview, General Naqdi stated that Iran has not yet deployed its most destructive weapons, adding, “There are many targets that we have not yet hit; we are saving them for the next steps.”
The general issued stark warnings regarding potential retaliation. He said Iran could permanently stop oil production in the region. “If they target our power plants, they will also lose their power plants,” he cautioned.
In a direct threat to US naval assets, General Naqdi said, “If a ballistic missile hits the deck of an aircraft carrier, all the planes will fall into the sea and thousands of tons of ammunition will explode, which will be a national disaster for the United States.”
Highlighting Iran’s ground forces as the country’s greatest strength, the commander noted that they have not yet joined the war. “If the American bases in the region are not eliminated, we can go and eliminate them ourselves,” he asserted.
General Naqdi dismissed any pride in Iran’s weaponry but claimed military advantage on conventional terms. “Even according to ordinary military calculations, we have the advantage. God is with us, that is why the enemy is being defeated,” he said.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions over Iran’s nuclear program and recent confrontations in the Strait of Hormuz.
