TEHRAN : The Iranian National Security Council announced on Saturday that Tehran has begun considering a set of new proposals presented by the United States in recent days, though no response has been issued yet.
According to the council, the US proposals were put forward amid ongoing negotiations, but Iran’s negotiating team is adopting a tough stance and will not make any compromises. “The interests of the Iranian nation will be defended with full force,” the Security Council said in a statement.
In a notable development, Pakistani Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has played the role of mediator in the negotiations, facilitating communication between the two sides. His involvement marks a rare diplomatic intervention by Islamabad in US-Iran affairs.
While Iran has confirmed receipt of the proposals, officials stressed that no decision has been made, and the negotiating team remains committed to safeguarding national interests without concessions.
