NEW DELHI: A serving Indian Army brigadier and his son were assaulted by civilians in New Delhi following a heated argument linked to the fallout of India failed ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan.

The local media reported that the incident occurred in a public area of the capital. A civilian reportedly taunted the officer over India’s failed operation against Pakistan. The remark triggered a verbal exchange that quickly escalated.

Witnesses said the brigadier reacted angrily. The situation turned violent as the civilian, joined by others nearby, physically attacked the officer and his son.

Both victims sustained injuries in the assault. Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the incident.

The episode comes amid reports of growing public frustration in India following the unsuccessful operation against Pakistan.
