LAHORE : Pakistan’s star fast bowler and Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has welcomed the recent ceasefire, calling it a “victory for humanity” and lauding the country’s positive role in promoting global peace.

 

In a statement posted on social media, the left-arm pacer expressed pride over Pakistan’s contributions to international stability. He specifically acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for playing an important role in achieving the ceasefire.

 

“Pakistan has shown the path of hope,” Afridi said, adding that the national leadership’s push for dialogue and stability is highly commendable. “The ceasefire is a victory for humanity,” he reiterated.

 

The 25-year-old cricketer, who also leads the Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), further observed that the country is moving in a positive direction. “Pakistan is moving towards peace, unity and a bright future,” he said.

 

Afridi’s remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts by Pakistan to mediate regional tensions and foster constructive dialogue. His statement has been widely shared on social media, with fans and analysts praising his supportive stance for peace initiatives.
