US-Iran Ceasefire a Major Diplomatic Win for Pakistan, Says Michael

ISLAMABAD: A two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran has been described as a major diplomatic success for Pakistan by Michael Kugelman.

The remarks were made in a statement, in which Pakistan’s recent diplomatic efforts were highlighted.

It was said that a significant breakthrough had been achieved by Pakistan in recent years. Critics were described as having been surprised by the development.

Doubts over Pakistan’s ability to manage a complex, high-level crisis were said to have been disproven. The outcome was presented as evidence of effective diplomacy.

It was further stated that the most important aspect of the effort was the prevention of potential large-scale destruction in Iran.

Earlier, a proposal for a two-week ceasefire put forward by Shehbaz Sharif had been accepted by Donald Trump.
