Trump warns of intensified strikes on Iran

Trump says Iran war ‘pretty much’ over, progressing ahead of schedule

WASHINGTON : US President Donald Trump has signaled a significant escalation in ongoing tensions with Iran, warning that military operations may intensify further in the coming weeks.

In an address to the American people, Trump stated that the next few weeks will be “very important” as US forces push to complete their objectives. He claimed that over the past month, American strikes have severely damaged Iran’s key military infrastructure, with multiple important targets successfully hit.

According to the president, the operation has completed its critical stages and will now be brought to its “logical conclusion.” While asserting that potential threats from Iran have significantly decreased and Tehran’s strategic ambitions have been substantially damaged, Trump made it clear that operations will continue until all goals are fully achieved. He explicitly named Iran’s energy facilities as possible future targets.

Trump also leveled serious allegations against the Iranian government, accusing it of violently suppressing public protests over recent decades, though he provided no evidence to support the claims.

The president reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to protecting its Middle Eastern allies, listing Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain as key partners in the region.

Turning to energy markets, Trump noted that the US has achieved self-sufficiency in the energy sector and is no longer as dependent on Middle Eastern oil as in the past. He acknowledged that oil prices have fluctuated due to regional tensions but expressed confidence that the situation would soon normalize.

Trump described the ongoing conflict as entering its final stages, adding that once tensions subside, vital sea lanes—particularly the Strait of Hormuz—would automatically be restored to normal operation.

The president’s remarks come amid heightened regional volatility, following Iran’s latest wave of missile attacks on Israel and reports of explosions in multiple cities, including Tel Aviv. Additionally, former Iranian foreign minister has been reported seriously injured in a US and Israeli airstrike, with his wife reportedly martyred.

In a separate development, Iran’s president has addressed a letter to the American people, stating that Tehran harbors no hostility toward them, even as tensions between the two nations continue to escalate.
