KECH: Local and security sources have strongly rejected claims circulating on social media regarding a large-scale militant attack in the Zamuran area of Kech district, labeling them as “fake news” and part of a coordinated propaganda campaign.
According to these sources, accounts associated with “Fitna Al Hindustan” alleged that Pakistani security forces suffered heavy casualties following an attack on a military camp in Zamuran. The claims further suggested that a large number of armed militants launched a prolonged assault from multiple directions, with the engagement reportedly lasting over an hour.
The same sources also alleged that Pakistani military convoys were targeted at two separate locations while attempting to move into the area.
However, officials and local sources have categorically denied these reports, stating that no such large-scale attack took place in Zamuran. They emphasized that the claims are baseless and appear to be part of an effort to spread misinformation and create panic.
Security officials reiterated that the situation in the region remains under control and that there have been no reports of significant clashes or casualties as described in the circulating narratives.
Authorities have urged the public to rely on verified information from credible sources and to avoid sharing unconfirmed reports on social media
