Saudi Arabia's cabinet responds strongly to Iranian attacks

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has confirmed its right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its national security and sovereignty amid growing tensions in the Middle East.

The statement came after an important virtual meeting of the Saudi Cabinet chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Kingdom focused on that it will not hesitate to take appropriate steps to protect its territory and national interests. The Cabinet noted that ensuring the safety of the country and its strategic assets remains a top priority for the Saudi leadership.

The statement increased the vigilance and operational efficiency of the Kingdom’s security forces in preventing damage to important infrastructure.

Saudi media reports indicated that the Cabinet strongly condemned actions attributed to Ali Khamenei’s government in Iran, accusing it of targeting Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, and other Arab states.

The Cabinet described such actions as destabilizing for the region and called for respect for international norms and laws.

The statement further stressed that attacks on civilian areas and vital oil installations represent a clear violation of international law and globally recognized principles.

Saudi officials warned that such actions threaten regional stability and undermine efforts to maintain peace and security in the Middle East.

The Cabinet also discussed diplomatic developments and welcomed the recent joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union.

The Cabinet described the meeting as a positive step toward strengthening international cooperation and addressing shared security concerns.

The Cabinet noted the outcomes of a recent meeting of foreign ministers from the Arab League. Ministers at the gathering approved resolutions condemning Iranian actions in the region, a move the Saudi Cabinet described as significant in demonstrating unified regional concern.
