ISLAMABAD: Pakistani forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by Khwarij terrorists along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Chaman sector.
One terrorist was killed, while the others fled in injured condition.
According to security sources, a group of 3–4 Khwarij terrorists attempted to infiltrate from a border area adjacent to the Chaman sector on the Pak-Afghan border.
The Pakistan Army effectively engaged and targeted the fence-cutting terrorists.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed and the remaining members escaped while wounded.
The fleeing terrorists abandoned 4 to 5 ready-made IEDs and fence-cutting tools, which have been recovered and taken into custody by security forces.
