TEHRAN: The Iranian Armed Forces have announced that their retaliatory strikes against American assets across the region have inflicted significant casualties and damage on US forces. According to a spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, speaking on Saturday, the operations over the past 24 hours have resulted in heavy tolls on US troops and commanders .
The spokesman, whose remarks were carried by the Iranian state-owned Tasnim News Agency, detailed the scope of the strikes conducted under the banner of “Operation True Promise 4.” He claimed that the attacks have caused considerable damage to US military infrastructure and resources throughout the region.
Providing a breakdown of the reported casualties, the spokesman stated that 21 American troops have been killed in strikes on the US 5th Fleet’s area of operations. He further alleged that approximately 200 US personnel have been killed or wounded at the Al Dhafra Air Base, a key installation in the United Arab Emirates shared by the US and UAE Air Forces . Additionally, he reported that an oil tanker belonging to the United States was targeted in the northern part of the Persian Gulf .
The Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, a subdivision of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, is responsible for coordinating operations involving various Iranian military units.
According to the Iranian spokesman, these retaliatory strikes are a response to what Tehran describes as a “deadly military campaign” launched by the United States and the “Zionist regime” against Iran. This campaign, which Iran states began on February 28, allegedly involved extensive strikes that targeted both military and civilian areas, resulting in significant casualties. The offensives reportedly followed the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, as well as senior military commanders and civilians .
The Iranian Armed Forces stated that they have carried out these harsh retaliatory strikes, hitting US and Israeli targets in the occupied territories and regional countries with a barrage of missiles and drones.
