Operation Ghazab lil Haq: 527 Taliban killed, 205 vehicles destroyed

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has released an update on the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil Haq (Wrath for the Truth), claiming significant losses inflicted on Afghan Taliban forces as of 1600 hours on March 6, 2026.

According to the minister’s statement shared on social media, the operation has resulted in the following reported casualties and damages to Afghan Taliban positions:

  • 527 Afghan Taliban fighters killed.
  • 755+ injured.
  • 237 check posts destroyed.
  • 38 posts captured and destroyed.
  • 205 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery guns destroyed.
  • 62 locations across Afghanistan effectively targeted by air strikes.

The operation, launched in late February 2026 in response to escalating cross-border attacks and alleged support for militant groups like the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Afghan soil, involves coordinated air and ground actions by Pakistani security forces along the Durand Line.

Pakistani officials have repeatedly stated that Operation Ghazab lil Haq will continue until credible guarantees are received from the Afghan Taliban regime to cease harbouring and supporting terrorist elements targeting Pakistan.

Earlier updates from the minister and security sources reported progressively rising figures, with prior tallies including around 481 killed and over 696 injured as of March 4.
