PM Shahbaz chairs high level meeting

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chairs high-level meeting to review regional and Pakistan’s security situation

A high-level meeting presided over by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was held to assess the prevailing regional and national security situation.

The meeting conducted a detailed review of the regional and broader geopolitical landscape.

Discussions focused on Pakistan’s role and various measures towards establishing peace in the region.

The current situation in Afghanistan was also thoroughly examined.

The participants received a comprehensive briefing on the internal security situation and related arrangements within the country.

On the Prime Minister’s directives, the meeting reviewed arrangements for the evacuation of Pakistani citizens from Iran, along with a detailed briefing by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on ensuring their safe return.

Evacuation of Pakistani nationals from Iran is being facilitated through Azerbaijan.

The meeting was attended by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Mohsin Naqvi, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and senior civil and military officials.
