GILGIT: The Central Anjuman-e-Imamia Gilgit-Baltistan has called upon Muslims to remain peaceful and disciplined during protests following reports of an attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran and the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.
The organization expressed deep concern over what it described as an attack carried out by the United States, Israel, and their allies against Iran.
The statement termed the development alarming for “freedom-loving humanity” and conveyed condolences over the reported martyrdom of Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, acknowledging his religious and political services to the Muslim world.
The Central Anjuman paid tribute to the late leader, referring to him as the Naib-e-Imam and mentioning his longstanding contributions. The statement expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and extended sympathies to the global Muslim community.
In this sense, central protest rally will be organized in Gilgit after Zuhr prayers. The rally will commence from the Central Imamia Mosque in Gilgit city. Organizers stated that those unable to travel to Gilgit are encouraged to hold peaceful demonstrations in their respective areas.
The statement further noted that a future course of action will be announced by the leadership in due course.
The statement concluded with a prayer, saying, “May Almighty Allah be our supporter and protector.”
