QUETTA: Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani, the former Chief Minister of Balochistan and current Chief of Sarawan, has vehemently opposed the decision to separate the Mastung district from the Kalat Division.
In a statement released on the social networking website Humx, Nawab Raisani declared that the move is categorically rejected by the people. He emphasized that Mastung has historically served as a vital and central part of the state of Kalat, holding a political, cultural, and administrative significance that cannot be overlooked.
“Such a decision is not only contrary to history and the deep-rooted affiliations of the people,” the statement read, “but taking this step without any public consultation deeply hurts public sentiments.”
Nawab Raisani made it clear that this decision would not be acceptable to the public. He has formally demanded that the relevant authorities immediately review their decision and prioritize the opinion of the local population in any administrative matters concerning the region.
