KASUR: A three-year-old boy died after falling into an open manhole at a private marriage hall in Mustafaabad, officials said on Wednesday.
Rescue teams recovered the child’s body from the sewer, according to emergency officials.
Deputy Commissioner Kasur Muhammad Asif Raza and District Police Officer Muhammad Issa Khan rushed to the scene after receiving information about the incident. They reviewed the situation on site.
Police registered a case under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the orders of the DPO.
The child’s father said the victim, Ali Muharram, had been celebrating his birthday on the day of the incident. The tragedy plunged the area into mourning.

DPO Muhammad Issa Khan said authorities would arrest those responsible and ensure strict punishment under the law.
