Babar Azam breaks Virat Kohli's major T20I record

Lahore: Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has achieved another significant milestone in T20 cricket history by becoming the player with the most half-centuries in T20 Internationals.

Babar accomplished this feat by scoring a half-century against Australia in the third T20I match.

In today’s game, he played a fluent innings of 50 runs off 35 balls.

With this knock, Babar now has a total of 39 half-centuries in T20Is, surpassing Virat Kohli, who previously held the record with 38 fifties.

Babar Azam also enjoyed a long stint as the number one ranked T20I batter in the world.

To date, Babar has represented Pakistan in 139 T20 Internationals, amassing 4,505 runs at an impressive average of 39.5.

His tally includes 3 centuries and 39 half-centuries.

Although he was kept out of the T20I side for a period, Babar made a strong comeback in the format.

He has also been included in Pakistan’s 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
