Islamabad: A few days ago, in Lahore near Data Darbar in the Bhati Gate area, a tragic incident occurred in which a mother and her young daughter fell into an open sewer line (manhole) and died.
After the incident, the husband, Ghulam Murtaza, informed the police and was subsequently arrested.
In a press conference with the media, Ghulam Murtaza revealed that he had witnessed his wife and daughter falling into the sewer manhole right in front of his eyes.
He said that the moment felt like he had died alive. Following this, the police arrested him.
The young man, Ghulam Murtaza, alleged that the SHO (Station House Officer) and other police personnel subjected him to brutal torture.
They repeatedly accused him of murdering his own wife and pressured him to confess to the killings.
After these revelations by Ghulam Murtaza, the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police reprimanded SHO Zain Abbas.
