Overseas Pakistanis in UAE to Get Zero-Cost Digital Wallet

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) is set to launch a digital wallet initiative aimed at enabling zero-cost remittances from overseas Pakistanis residing in the UAE, a leading fintech firm involved in the project announced.

Dellsons Associates, a company specializing in financial technology, digital payments, and remittance solutions with operations in the UAE, said the initiative will be rolled out under the government’s Digital Youth Hub.

The Digital Youth Hub is a flagship PMYP platform designed to link Pakistan’s youth with opportunities in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.

According to a press release, the proposed collaboration will integrate a regulated digital wallet into the Hub, allowing overseas Pakistanis in the UAE to send instant, zero-cost remittances to Pakistan through formal banking channels.

Dellsons Associates said it will support the design, development, deployment, and management of the digital wallet, while facilitating cross-border remittance processing through 1LINK, Pakistan’s national payment system operator, United Bank Limited, and other relevant partners.

The company emphasized that the initiative will fully comply with regulatory requirements of the central banks of Pakistan and the UAE, as well as international standards on anti-money laundering (AML), combating the financing of terrorism (CFT), know-your-customer (KYC), consumer protection, and cybersecurity.

PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood said the initiative aims to leverage financial technology and digital infrastructure to promote financial inclusion, productive employment, and secure remittance channels for Pakistani youth working abroad.

Dellsons Associates added that the collaboration is expected to boost formal remittance inflows, reduce dependence on informal transfer systems, enhance digital literacy, and contribute to Pakistan’s broader economic stability and digital transformation.

Foreign remittances remain a critical lifeline for Pakistan’s economy, helping support household consumption and reduce reliance on external borrowing.
