Naseerabad: In a major crackdown on smuggling in Nasirabad district, Balochistan, the DIG Police has released a report revealing the involvement of close relatives of provincial ministers, along with two police inspectors and eight other police personnel.
According to the DIG’s report, Jalal Khan Umrani , brother-in-law (saala) of provincial assembly member and Parliamentary Secretary Abdul Majid Badini from Jamaat-e-Islami , has been found involved in smuggling activities.
Similarly, Muhammad Asif Lehri , brother of Muslim League-N assembly member and Parliamentary Secretary for Excise and Taxation Mir Muhammad Khan Lehri has also been implicated in smuggling.
The report further states that Inspector Talib Hussain Lashari, Inspector Ali Gohar Lehri, and eight other police personnel were found guilty of involvement in the smuggling of non-custom-paid vehicles, Pan Parag, chhaliya (betel nuts), and Iranian diesel.
As a result of the proven allegations, the two inspectors and eight police personnel have been transferred out of the district (placed under district transfer restrictions) for three years, with three increments withheld.
Additionally, as part of their punishment, the police personnel will perform duty on prisoner vans (qaydi gaari) for three years.
Retired Captain Muhammad Asim Khan, DIG Police Nasirabad, stated that Inspector General of Police Balochistan has imposed a complete ban on smuggling, and strict action has been taken against the involved police personnel without any discrimination.

DIG Nasirabad Captain (Retd) Muhammad Asim Khan emphasized that the IG Police Balochistan has enforced a total ban on smuggling, and actions have been taken impartially against all involved officers.
