Gwadar 2026 Seminar Highlights Pathways to a Modern Coastal City

GWADAR: A seminar and exhibition titled “Gwadar 2026: Pathways to a Modern Coastal City” was held in Gwadar on Wednesday.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, attended the event as the chief guest.

Iqbal described the industrial and commercial development of Gwadar Port as a national priority. He said Gwadar is emerging as a strategic route that will connect Pakistan to the global trading system.

The seminar featured in-depth discussions on policy making, investment, security, and sustainable development.

Local and international experts, policymakers, and business leaders attended the event.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said Gwadar is becoming a strategic hub for regional trade, port-based economy, and global connectivity.

Managing Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana, highlighted Gwadar’s tourism potential.

Dr. Muhammad Jamil Ahmed said Gwadar Port has strong potential to become a regional trade and logistics center.

Dr. Hassan Daud Butt spoke on Gwadar’s industrial prospects and the role of Special Economic Zones.

Dean of NUST University, Dr. Ashfaq Hassan Khan, stressed the importance of development for the local population.
