Balochistan abolishes Religious Affairs Department

Quetta: The Department of Religious Affairs in Balochistan has been abolished.

According to a report by a private TV channel, the department has been dissolved, and its funds of Rs 400 crore have been reallocated to the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

The closure of the department has left 450 positions vacant.

Sources say that the department’s resources, including machinery, vehicles, and staff such as Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, will be reassigned, while the remaining personnel will be transferred to the Department of Administration and Coordination.

An official notification regarding the closure is expected to be issued within a week.
