WASHINGTON : The U.S. Department of Defense has announced the retirement of a distinguished veteran Military Working Dog Doggles. After eight years of dedicated service, the four-legged hero is formally stepping down from active duty.

Doggles served loyally alongside his handler, Sergeant Justin Patton. Throughout his career, the skilled canine held vital responsibilities in high-stakes environments, deploying on missions from the United Nations headquarters to conflict zones in Iraq. His primary and critical duty was detecting explosive materials, a task crucial for the safety of his fellow service members and civilians in volatile areas.

The official statement highlighted that after years of disciplined service, Doggles will now enjoy a well-earned retirement. In a fitting conclusion to their partnership, he will spend his retirement years living with Sergeant Patton and his family, transitioning from a life of duty to one of companionship and leisure. This common practice allows for a stable and loving environment for retired working dogs, who have formed deep bonds with their handlers.
