QUETTA: Security forces have carried out a successful counterterrorism operation and killed a senior commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army( BLA), an Indian proxy backed by the RAW to destabalise Balochistan.
The BLA commander, identified as “Shankar Raj,” also known as Zohaib, had recently planned a bank robbery in Kharan. Security forces foiled the attempt and killed more than a dozen terrorists at the scene.
Shankar Raj’s real name was Zohaib. Inspired by a Bollywood character, Pushpa Raj, he changed his alias and chose a life of crime.
He played a leading role in narcotics smuggling and terrorism. Zohaib was not only a drug dealer. He also consumed drugs himself. He chewed crystal meth to ensure rapid absorption into his bloodstream. This habit reflected the brutality of his terrorist conduct.
He carried out several terrorist attacks in Kharan. Authorities accused him of raping 17 Baloch women. He was also wanted in 21 murder cases.
Shankar Raj possessed identification documents from India, Afghanistan, and Iran.
