JUI-F’s Zehri vows to fight Sorab district abolition

Sorab Will Not Compromise: Zehri Vows to Fight Move to Abolish District

KHUZDAR: Former Balochistan Home Minister and central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Nawabzada Mir Zafarullah Khan Zehri, has issued a stern warning against a reported conspiracy to abolish Sorab district, terming it an act of “open hostility” towards its people.

In a charged statement to media representatives, the MPA from Sorab alleged that the hand of a political party is clearly visible behind this “heinous conspiracy.” He pointedly accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of orchestrating the move, claiming that “rejected” elements, who were voted into power in 2018 on promises related to the district, were now following PPP instructions to “stab the people in the back.”

“The people of Sorab have given a clear message by rejecting opportunistic political elements in the 2023 elections,” Zehri stated, asserting that Sorab would no longer accept fraud or conspiracies. He lamented that the very representatives elected on the promise of the district had been absent and “completely unsuccessful” in solving public problems after its establishment.

Zehri framed the district’s creation as a historic achievement won through public sacrifice, declaring it non-negotiable. “It will not be allowed to fall victim to any political interest, personal ego, or party conspiracy,” he vowed.

The JUI-F leader announced a campaign to expose the conspiracy at every forum alongside the public and pledged unwavering resistance. He issued a direct warning, stating that any practical progress against Sorab district would trigger a “strong public reaction and full democratic resistance,” for which the conspirators would bear full responsibility. The statement sets the stage for a significant political confrontation over the administrative status of Sorab.
