QUETTA: The Balochistan government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Bank of Pakistan to provide electric scooters on subsidised instalments to the public, working women and students.
The agreement was signed at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta in the presence of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Provincial Minister Mir Sadiq Umrani, senior provincial officials and top executives of the National Bank of Pakistan attended the ceremony.
Chief Minister Bugti welcomed the initiative and said affordable, dignified and low-cost transport for the public, students and especially working women remains a key government priority.
He said the electric scooter scheme will ease daily commuting problems for different segments of society. He added that the project will also promote fuel alternatives, reduce transport costs and encourage environmentally friendly mobility.
Bugti said the provincial government is committed to implementing projects that deliver direct benefits to the public and improve daily life.
