ISLAMABAD: The noticeable weight loss of Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has once again become a topic of public discussion.
The debate began after a video of Aurangzeb attending the wedding of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s son went viral on social media. The footage showed the minister appearing significantly slimmer.
Social media users reacted with a range of comments. Some speculated that she was using Ozempic, a medication typically prescribed to type 2 diabetes patients that can also aid weight loss. Others suggested she might have undergone surgery.
Aurangzeb’s mother, Tahira Aurangzeb, addressed the speculation in a media interview. She said her daughter has been on a strict diet for the past two to three months. “I advised her against it. She has been consuming only tea and coffee. She looks slim now, but no surgery or medication has been involved,” she said.
